For Physicians
We are trying to recruit more Washington University-affiliated physicians who are boarded in emergency medicine, internal medicine, or OB/GYN to volunteer to attend at the clinic for approximately 4-5 hours on a Saturday morning, from 8:45AM to about 1:00PM or 2:00PM.
We see 6-9 patients during each clinic session. You will be working with at least three preclinical students and three clinical students. The students perform a full history and physical as time allows and then present and discuss the case with you. There is one student coordinator who is responsible for the paperwork and administrative issues. The coordinator may also ask you to interpret lab results from the previous week's patients. We only see patients up to 3 times because we cannot be a permanent solution. Since many of our patients do not have primary care physicians, we do our best to set up appointments and connect them to the resources at the Family Care Health Center for future care. No orientation is needed for the physicians because the students are responsible the paperwork and referrals.
If you would are interested in volunteering, please contact us, so we can set a date that works best for you. Also, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to hearing from you!
